Mandy
Hill
I received my first camera as a gift when I was a child, and I have never set it back down. As I traveled, I've realized that photography is not just a creative obsession, but a life-long passion. For me, the essence of the shot has been based around one idea. Anyone can press a button. Not everyone can frame a memory.

I am a graduate of The New York Institute of Photography with over eight years of field experience in freelance and wedding photography. My experience and training has given me the opportunity to capture moments that can never be repeated. My clients have found that whether it is just a few hours or an entire wedding, I will capture it with my creative and spontaneous edge.
Vicki Christensen Life is comprised of constant emotional responses to wherever we are, and whatever we are doing. we experience life through our senses that cause us to feel every minute of every day with emotions like excitement, happiness, fear, frustration, pride, empathy, passion -- the list never ends. And we experience life with conscious and unconscious thought processes like concentrating, listening, watching, communicating, and daydreaming. My art gives tangible form to the emotional experience that is life. Photography is how I express the way I personally look at life, physically, spiritually, and philosophically. Essentially, my style evolves and the subject matter is eclectic and horses are my favorite subjects of all.
Jahe Smith

As a lifelong international traveler, I try to express my love of landscapes through art. I trained with German and Taiwanese artists while living overseas, and studied fine arts at University of Cincinnati, Ohio, and San Angelo State, Texas, where I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts. Upon relocating to Colorado, I was surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of the West, offering endless subject material for both impressionistic landscape and my latest love, abstract paintings. By translating the rich mixture of colors, shadows and shapes inherent in the surrounding natural spaces; I have created vibrant, eye-catching paintings that reflect the energy and passion of The West.

Bryan Lamoreaux

Bryan Lamoreaux is an artist who was born, bred, and buttered in Colorado. With the timeless Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, he discovered a love for the Arts which he fostered at Colorado State University. It was at CSU that Bryan fell in love with the Metal Smithing program, and through his studies he came to realize that with metals, unlike some other mediums, there was a strength and resilience to the materials. When he looked at relics from Colorado's diverse history, what was left, if not the old tools, an art made of metal? In an attempt to immortalize the essence of the world around him, and to mimic in pale contrast the unchanging nature of the Rockies, Bryan turned to creating the forms of the things he saw around him from non-ferrous metals. If asked, Bryan would categorize the genre of his art as Apocalyptica, as it describes most closely what is left behind after natural forces have had their way with the physical elements of our world. Bryan looks forward with excitement to the future where new discoveries can be made as he pushes his medium to the next level. "

Carl Bandy

Carl Bandy has been hand-carving bas-reliefs sculptures since 1977 and creating cast paper sculptures since 1987. The even-grain mahongany allows him to achieved chiseled rock-like textures, fine detail or smooth surfaces. This, combined with fibers of the finished paper sculpture, yields a multi-textured effect, ehanced by the shadows. The illusion of depth and mass is one of the most important things Bandy strived to achieve.

Cheryl Miller

Cheryl is a licensed K-12 art teacher, who has taught in Illnois and in the Douglas County School System. She also taught in a couple of Montessori Schools and recently retired from Shepherd of the Hills Christian School, where she taught grades K-8 and electives for the past 7 years. Her passion, other than teaching, is photography and painting. Over the years she has studied art privately with several artists and is well-versed in all media, including ceramics and stained glass.

Donna Martin

I am a Colorado native with a great love for capturing authentic beauty in the world around us and portraying it in my work.

I'm a late bloomer to mixed media techniques, only recently having discovered its importance in my life, but ever since that day it has taken my world by storm! Late last summer, I became intrigued with encaustic techniques and began adding this to my work. Encaustic is a form of painting that was developed by ancient Greek shipbuilders who used hot wax to fill the cracks in their ships. Soon pigment (color) was added and this led to painting on the surface of the waxed hull, thus an art form was born.

I also work with watercolors. In an attempt to create a little something different, I have been experimenting with watercolor batik. The results are both fascinating and surprising!

I'm constantly learning about art and technique, through self-study as well as taking workshops and courses from a host of talented instructors in a variety of venues. My work has been displayed throughout the Front Range and resides in private collections both nationally and internationally.

Jennifer Riefenberg

Jennifer paints in oils with the Plein Air Colorado (PAC) group in the Castle Rock area, capturing the landscapes, architecture, history and uniqueness of the area in oil paint. The result is a series of painting Colorado.

Jennifer also paints in watercolor and acrylic, is also a professional photographer and is an accomplished needle-/fiber-artist. She loves teaching others both the skills and the pure love and joys of art and creativity.

Pam Hostetler

Pam Hostetler is a well-known local watercolo artist living in Franktown, Colorado. She has been drawing and painting since childhood. She has been working in watercolor exclusively for the last 15 years. "Mixing water and paint to achieve the best emotional response is exciting for me," she says. Pam is a self-taught artist, but credits many workshop teachers for her knowledge.

John Moore

My mother told me that I was drawing horses since before I was able to talk. She said they were discernably horses, not dogs or cows, but horses. As far back as I can remember, horses were then and still are one of my most favored animals to draw. I have no explanation for why animals have been the focus of my artistic endeavors. What I do know is that animals that exude power and or grace are the ones I am compelled to depict. Therefore, in most of my illustrations I strive to show animals in motion. The one assurance I give to my clients is that if they ever see a picture similar to any of my illustrations, it is purely by coincidence, because I only use my imagination and nature as the inspiration for my works. Although I occasionally paint with acrylics and draw with colored pencils, drawing with a pen and ink is my favorite medium because of the detail I am able to achieve. I rarely include background (trees, mountains, clouds, etc.) because I want the viewer to focus in on the animals themselves. The border I draw on the picture is for giving the composition depth and to help accentuate the motion of the animals.

Kelly Shaw

I work with acrylics and mixed media on canvas and wood cut outs. I also do hand painted glassware, hand painted tiles, and wood engravings. My work is very character driven, very colorful, whimsical and always tells a story.

My characters began to develop as a teenager, when I forced myself to rely on pure instinct by finishing multiple pieces within a short amount of time. This experience, which generated a large collection of work, culminated in deep character development and forever altered my vision as an artist. By tapping deeply into that part of my imagination hitherto uncovered, my characters suddenly began to reveal themselves around every corner. Today, when I sit down to design a piece, it appears on the canvas before I even reach for a brush. My work is most influenced by the subtle images of everyday life. Every day brings a fresh life experience that further enriches my visual diary. My style is at once deeply defined and fluid, constantly transforming. Elements of my personal perception of the subject weave into the paint and are part and parcel of each image and symbol. Only upon completing a piece do I discover what it is, can be, and strives to represent. Bold vibrant colors and decorative details help me to enhance the intensity of each painting. The Red Dog in every piece is meant as a personal mark and a signature image. Its first origin began in the first series of impulse paintings.

Sarah Gonzalez

Sarah G. has had an artistic spirit all her life. At five years old, she remembers saying, "I'm gonna do what I love for a living, when I grow up!". She was determined to "color outside" the expected lines that had been set upon her. At age 17, Sarah attended Indian Wesleyan University for Studio Art and Communications.

After college, Sarah worked on small creative projects in her spare time, but put her dream of being a full-time successful artist on hold. About five years ago after a long twenty year wait, she decided it was time to find her true artistic style and voice. Sarah started working on various techniques and experimenting with different materials. She really wanted to develop unique and outside-the-box creations.

Today, Sarah's vision has come to life! It is common at every show to hear someone say, "I've never seen anything like that!" One of the defining details of her pieces is her dot technique. White and black dots are peppered throughout all her works. "The dots create movement, light, and excitement for the eye. They act like a tour guide for the viewer." Sarah explains.

Aly Gardiner
I received a Nikon D90 as a birthday gift in December 2008 and I've been obsessed with photography ever since! Being a mother to two beautiful kids and living in Colorado, it was easy for me to find things to photograph on an almost daily basis!
